AUTHOR: Kimberly B. McLain

Kimberly B. McLain is the Curricula Course Developer for the “Foundations for Assisting in Home Care”, a MOOC hosted on the Coursera website. She is the main author for the accompanying open text, Foundations for Assisting in Home Care. Kimberly McLain is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Broome Community College, teaching in the Medical Assisting and Health Science Department. She has previously taught courses in psychology and counseling at Ithaca College, SUNY Cortland, and the University at Buffalo. Kimberly holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education with a concentration in teaching from the University at Buffalo, a Masters in Community Counseling from the University of Scranton, a Bachelors in Psychology from Binghamton University, and Associates degrees in both Nursing and Medical Assisting from SUNY Broome Community College. Kimberly is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. She has extensive experience in the fields of nursing, mental health, and education.
