Milne Open Textbooks is a SUNY Geneseo project working hard to publish amazing textbooks by State University of New York faculty authors! This collection of textbooks is completely open and free for students and libraries around the world–but we are small operation and need your help! We want to make sure these texts are the highest quality possible for SUNY students and resources that you are proud to talk up to students and faculty.
Check out our already published works. So far our subjects cover literature, anthropology, biometrics, web development, real analysis, and information literacy, with many more to come!

First and foremost, read about our project, and tell others about us and our books!
Secondly, sign up below to subscribe to our editing listserv where we will post projects. When a textbook is ready for copy editing or proofreading we will send a call for editors.
Copy editing involves careful reading for spelling, grammar and punctuation, polishing up writing for clarity, and ensuring the correct style guide is followed. Proofreading involves reading through the text right before it’s published to catch any last minute snafus. Basic training will be provided.
Consider gathering a small group of willing persons in your library or professional network and dividing up a project! If you are willing but not able to commit to a full-length book we can match you with other volunteers to edit a book chapter by chapter or even simply to coordinate other volunteers. This option is great for busy individuals with excellent communication skills!
